Yoga and Dance with Horses (Hands On, Intensive)
EquusLibere Embodiment Series Presents:
Yoga and Dance with Horses (Hands on, Intensive)
***Description***
This practice will take place in an indoor arena on our beautiful 55 acre ranch-retreat facility. Please note that the arena can be heated if needed for colder temperatures.
After a safety demonstration and a share of helpful context on horses and practices that blend horses and movement, we will enter into the indoor arena space with several kind, safe equine companions loose in the space.
Our practice will begin with an opening meditation and circle within the arena, giving participants an opportunity to connect and set intentions for the practice.
The opening will be followed by a guided, hands on and hands off interactive practice that incorporates yoga, dance, and other breath and somatic practices that tap into the subtle, the primal, the unique sensitivities of the ‘horse body’ alive in our bodies.
As participants enter more deeply into presence with their own bodies and what’s alive within them, participants will be invited into co-creative hands on and hands off movement exercises with the horses. These exercises offer an opportunity to bring their inner experiences into a dynamic, co-creative conversation with the horses.
The practice will conclude with a group close, opportunity to share insights and reflections, and closing.

No horse experience is necessary (in fact, often less is better!) and all activities take place on the ground. We work with a wonderful herd of horses that are well handled, good-natured, and specifically chosen for their suitability for these kinds of activities.
***Covid Safety measures***
Our practice will take place in a large indoor arena with ample capacity for social distance. When within 6 feet, masks are required; when outside of that space, masks can come down. Any participants feeling unwell or exciting possible Covid symptoms are requested to stay home.

***About the EquusLibere Embodiment Series***
The EquusLibere Embodiment Series offers experiences blending movement and somatic awareness practices, presence and engagement with horses, and self-inquiry processes. These processes create a powerful combination for nervous system regulation and the identification of intangible yet powerful underlying dynamics in ourselves and the relationships we inhabit. Through co-creative practices with the horses, participants are able to work with these dynamics made visible through feedback from the horses. Each session is an opportunity for meditation and experimentation with the undercurrents in our minds, bodies, and relationships. Each practice opens space to step into our embodied capacity for choice around the states we want to create.
